Forgotten Footprints is the archive’s tribute to them. They are the authors who helped shape the genre. Yet, they somehow slipped through the cracks. Here, we retrace their steps, dust off their stories, and bring their shadows back into the light.

You won’t always find whole files. Sometimes the trail ends abruptly. It’s a publisher’s note without a past. Or it is a single surviving novel tucked in a library corner or a picture no longer available. But that’s part of the mystery, isn’t it?

A “Forgotten Footprint” is:

An author who wrote under their real, verifiable name, not a pseudonym or anonymous label.
A writer whose fame or influence faded despite genuine contribution to the shaping of detective fiction.
A creator who helped the genre mature — from Gothic suspicion to moral and procedural investigation.

⚖️ Purpose of This Section

We aim to return these writers to the record. They are not seen as curiosities. Instead, they are crucial voices in the slow formation of mystery fiction. Their books may no longer rest on every shelf. However, their ideas echo in every story. This is where conscience and curiosity collide.
